“You have family, and you have friends, and you also have friends that become family…”
This weekend we got started with much of the transformation from becoming owners, to getting all of the pieces of our Searenity Sands experience into place. We moved in on Thursday the 8th after Max’s evening baseball game to get our first haul of items over to the new place! This was also our first night to stay there so Christy and I opened a nice bottle of champagne and took a stroll down to the beach to celebrate to ourselves and retiring to the condo to get some sleep. Friday morning came fast. Fortunately Spectrum had dropped off the equipment early, so I was able to get the Searenity Sands network up and going (as I had to do some remote work for my job as well). Christy entertained a friend with a tour of the beach for the afternoon, and later on we visit JD’s lounge for dinner and drinks. This place was on fire and had a GREAT band! We had the mahi tacos, and a few local beers to round out the night. As we got back, we took account of things to do on Saturday from our “list”. Getting a new couch to be among the highest priority. Saturday morning, we were back to the baseball field to catch Max’s game and directly after, we visited 3-4 furniture stores looking for a good sectional/with pull-out bed to add an extra queen bed in the living area. We also purchased a new chair for the master bedroom which folds out to a twin. This way families with small children have an extra option. Saturday afternoon, we hosted a few friends who popped in and out to “check out the new place”. A great time was had by all, with some time to soak up the sun just before the storms hit forcing us inside and back to work! Check out some of the amazing photos we took of the storm coming in right at sunset below! U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!!! I hope that many of you can experience this in person. A true God moment shining down on us from above!
As we entered into Sunday, it was a day full of work as the storms persisted through the day. The new couch delivered, and we were able to get some new artwork hung around the place, as well all new cable boxes, reset the TV’s and joined them to the network. We also installed some new hardware on the doors and added the Lockley remote access system to the front for guest and contractor entry.
While we got a lot of work done, we took our time enjoying the new place and we had fun imagining our guests doing the same. Searenity sands is taking shape and starting it’s transformation. Next weekend, we are taking a break from the condo to visit some family and friends, but will be back at it as we get ready to host our first family guests coming on 4/22! Until next post!
